GAME DAY!

Today, our USSSA Pride team begins the 2016 season, playing the Scrapyard dogs in Houston, TX at 7:30pm CST.

Throughout my softball career, I have played a LOT of games in many states across the US, as well as in other countries and I have to say that I STILL get nervous and excited when it comes time for the games to start.

I remember having this same feeling, all the way back to my days on a 10U All-Star team, where I was so proud to wear that All Star jersey, and now – so many years later, I am putting on the uniform of the USSSA Pride Team, waiting to take the field today in my second season of playing Pro-Softball and the nerves and excitement are still there – even more now.

Back in those 10U All-Star days, I could have never dreamed that I, and so many other softball players would be playing past our college careers with –and against the best players in the country and the world. It’s so unbelievably exciting that professional softball is happening for us now and the league is only getting bigger and stronger with this year’s addition of the Scrapyard Dawgs franchise and Monica Abbot recently signed a 1 million dollar contract!

There are so many passionate softball players, like me – who are so appreciative of this opportunity and I know that we will do our absolute best to Love, Honor and Respect the game – the way it should be, so that we can help build a tradition that the young, 10U All-Star player of today, will strive to play for when her time comes.

Before I signed off, I wanted to say that this year’s USSSA Pride team, is better than ever with new additions to the team this season, and they are; Nikki Sagermann, Kelsey Stewart, Missy Taukeiaho, Lauren Sweet, Kristi Merritt, Kelsey Nunley, Erica Field, Haylie McCleney, Aubree Munro and NCAA Player of the year, Sierra Romero. So, be sure to watch us this season in person or on NPF-TV and look for us at Rhodes Stadium in Tuscaloosa Alabama in August 2016 – where I expect we will be bringing home the Championship!
