CG Pride

I just finished my first games as an “Undergraduate Assistant Coach” for Arizona Softball! If you hadn’t heard, “THE CATS WON”! It was a huge blowout, and the team looked good.

I didn’t know how I was going to feel, being at Hillenbrand, at the field, and not being able to play the game, I had played there for the previous 4 years, but I think when the time came, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Of course, I still would have loved to be in the batter’s box facing the opposing pitchers, or behind the plate, catching our pitchers, but the role I am now allows me to be a part of the game I love so much, and to share some of my experiences to others on the team, to hopefully help them, as the previous assistant coaches helped me, when I was playing.

I feel we have a very good team this season, and I look forward to a long season with plenty of “Post-Season” games, culminating with a trip to the WCWS!

I do find that, while watching these college games, I am growing more and more anxious to get back to my USSSA Pride team. They are playing a Fall Tour, against other college teams, but my commitment to coaching, does not allow me to compete with Pride on this tour, but I stay in touch with them and follow them on social media. Can hardly wait until summer…
