Today being Veterans Day, I found myself thinking about the opportunities I have had to play softball in college and professionally for the USSSA Pride team, to go to college to pursue a degree, and to one day, embark upon my professional career. While doing this, I couldn’t help but think about, and be so Thankful for the brave people who dedicate and sacrifice so much, for each of us to have these opportunities and our Freedom – Our Soldiers and Veterans.
I was fortunate enough to play in a college game against the Wounded Warriors a few years ago, and I saw firsthand the toll fighting for our freedom, can have on our Brave Soldiers. By getting to meet them and play against them (BTW, they won- convincingly), I couldn’t help but be inspired by their fearless dedication to protecting us, and the fact that they would put themselves in harm’s way, to do so. These brave men and women are Super Hero’s in my book!
Although Celebrating our Veterans on this day is wonderful, it’s unfortunate that Veterans Day is not celebrated every hour of every day of every year, because there is so much to Thank them for, and at any given time, there are so many more soldiers out their protecting us right now – that need to be celebrated when they return home!
So, a BIG Thank You, goes out to each and every Veteran out there, for everything you do to secure our Freedom and protect our Great Country!
